Our Lady of the Snows June 2021 Exam Schedule
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The end of the year is fast approaching. Please note that grade 9 provincial achievement tests and grade 12 diplomas have been cancelled this year and students in these grades will be writing teacher written exams.
Exams for grade 11 and 12 students will be weighted at 15% and will be no-fault exams. This means that although students must write their final exams, their overall mark can only improve. A student’s overall grade will not go down if they achieve a grade on their final exam that is lower than their class awarded grade. Grade 7 to 10 exams will be weighted at 10%. Please note the dates and times and ensure that your child is present for their exams.
To assist with preparing your child for final exams we have put together a short list of recommendations.
- Prepare ahead of time. Collect all the resources you might need to be well prepared. This should include past quizzes, tests and study notes as well as your own course notes.
- Review Test Anxiety material distributed by Our Lady of the Snows.
- Use tools in reviewing for your exam. You can prepare study cards, or go to an online study website like Exam Bank. www.exambank.com
- Attend all available tutorials. Your core teachers have scheduled a number of tutorial periods throughout the exam period. Attend them all and go with a positive attitude.
- Relax, eat well and sleep right. Get a good night’s sleep the night before and have a good breakfast the morning of your exam.
